Speaking of his relocation, Wolfgang says “Moving to Hawaii was a dream come true, but it was a difficult decision to make, all the same. The move meant leaving the rest of the band behind and starting all over again.” The situation the singer found himself in is reminiscent of the days following the release of the band’s debut EP ‘Better Days’ in 2010, when the studio-band that was recorded had to be replaced by all-new instrumentalists that needed to be familiarized with the band’s philosophy and style. “After ‘Better Days’, everything was up in the air. The session musicians disappeared, as session musicians tend to do after their work is done, and I was on my own again. I had to build a whole new group to give life to the entity that had appeared towards the end of the production. As painful as it was, I think Sons of the Late DC emerged stronger coming out of this phase.”

And it seems that history might just keep repeating itself. The new songs are strong, playful and fresh, yet unmistakably the music of the Sons of the Late DC, a testament to the continuing effort put into the songwriting. Wrapping up pre-production on the Big Island of Hawaii, Wolfgang seems eager to get back into the swing of things. Gearing up for recording sessions, and finding a new band to back him up, Wolfgang is optimistic about the band’s future. “The Sons of the Late DC has always been a stream of players, dropping in and out, changing with the times and adapting. It’s less about the lineup, and more about the music.”
